| Overview
In general, foreign nationals entering the Kingdom of Thailand must obtain a visa from a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate. However, there are broad exceptions for tourists from certain countries or nationals of countries who have bilateral visa exemption agreements with Thailand.
Nationals of other countries, while not exempted from visa requirements, may acquire visas on arrival valid for a stay of up to 15 days.
Nationals of countries not on any of the lists mentioned in the links above must obtain visas prior to their arrival in Thailand at a Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate.
Tourist Visas are valid for a period of 60 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days for a total of 90 days at an Immigration Bureau, the cost is 1,900 Baht.
